Muncy Historical Society to host the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra for a second year with a “Pops at Pepper Street” free concert.
The Williamsport Symphony Orchestra returns to Muncy to perform a variety of musical selections on Saturday, August 6 at 7:00 pm. The outdoor concert location is 232 Pepper Street, Muncy Creek Township, Muncy. Parking is available at Muncy High School and on Painter, Buffington and Lincoln streets. In case of rain, the concert will be held in the First United Methodist Church sanctuary, 602 S. Market Street, Muncy.
Under the baton of Music Director/Conductor Gerardo Edelstein, the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra will perform a West Side Story medley, a Tchaikovsky’s Waltz from Eugene Onegin, Strauss’ jaunty, high-spirited Tritsch Tratsch Polka, Brahms’ lively Hungarian Dance No. 5, John Williams’ music from Harry Potter, and a Beatles medley. The orchestra will also feature America the Beautiful and Sousa’s Stars and Stripes Forever.
The “Pops at Pepper Street” free concert is sponsored by Muncy Historical Society and its financial partners, the Waldron Memorial Fund at the First Community Foundation Partnership of Pennsylvania, the Woodcock Foundation for the Appreciation of the Arts, Hudock Capital Group, Muncy Bank and Trust Company, and Muncy Professional and Business Association. For this Lower Lycoming County concert, additional financial support comes from friends of the Muncy Historical Society.

As the sun sets, relax and enjoy the shared fun-filled, community oriented public experience of this live, outdoor concert. The Muncy Historical Society will provide free popcorn; the Muncy Band will sell bottled water and hot dogs; and the Williamsport Symphony Orchestra folks will have their 2016-2017 season brochure available and stand ready to discuss the details for this, their 50th anniversary celebration season.
