Our 50th anniversary celebrations begin with a big splash!  Former music director, Robin Fountain, returns to conduct the overture to May Night by Rimsky-Korsakov – one of the composer’s lighter and more comic operas full of fantastic folk characters.

Andrew Rammon solos for one of the most beloved cello concertos written by the English composer, Sir Edward Elgar.  The concert closes with another Russian giant: Alexander Borodin‘s Symphony No. 2 – arguably his greatest full-scale symphonic piece with exotic tunes, rich harmonies, and colorful orchestration.
