Our Close-Up Concert Series offers classical music fans small-ensemble and solo musical performances in an intimate setting with wonderful acoustics. We hold these special concerts at the Mary Lindsay Welch Honors Hall at the southern end of the Lycoming College campus, at the corner of East Fourth & Mulberry Streets in Williamsport. All concerts are on Sundays and begin at 3:00PM. Tickets are $10 for each concert or $25 for the series. For advance tickets, please call the Lycoming College Music Department at (570) 321-4016 (mornings). Tickets may also be purchased at the door prior to each concert. ![]() Sunday, March 24 - Paris Between The Wars With Stravinsky and Les Six, the Ballets Rousses and Josephine Baker, Dada and surrealism, Paris was the musical capital of the world in the 1920s and ‘30s. Our program includes Milhaud’s samba-inspired The Ox on the Roof, Poulenc’s Trio for Oboe, Bassoon, and Piano, the flute sonata of Dutilleux, and the Stravinsky Octet. William Ciabattari will conduct; performers include: Reuben Councill, flutist. Susan Laib, oboist. Stephen Olson, bassoonist; pianists Yvonne Mitchell-Sarch and Gary Boerckel. ![]() |
